Well, It's been three day since I started this blog and already I am changing things!! Kelsey and I went for a ride to clear our heads and had a good conversation about the future of "Cycles and Cynicisms!" The main purpose of the blog is to have some engaging topics and conversations about bikes and life! When I first set up a profile to comment on other blogs, I did not think too far ahead. I do not want to mix the typical family scrapbook material with the true purpose of the blog. . . To argue, rant and rave!!!

Because of this, I have gone in and created a new profile that actually has the blog title in the URL. This serves two purposes: The first is recognition, the second is the ability to separate "family" stuff from the other topics. We will keep this blog to post family info and our various adventures; however in the interest of the fellow "Cynics," Cycles and Cynicisms will move. I will post the new URL. If you would like to link to the blog, feel free!

It's officially cyclocross season and let me say. . . damn! We're two races into the season and I have to say that I'm having a lot of fun. Mike had an awesome race in Heber finishing second! I had some serious issues with mud clearance and learned the hard way that there is a reason for 30 C tires! Who would have thought?? Anyway, I ordered a Surly Cross Check and some new tires so that I am prepared for the future!

Anyone intersted in checking out the races, go to http://www.utahcyclocross.com/ for venue info and race schedules! Kelsey, Mike, Kerry, Ethan and I are racing for Timpanogos Cyclery. I'm hoping that if the season goes well I can justify buying a sweet lightweight aluminum/carbon frame with some super lightweight trick components for next season! I can't wait!!

My wife has been trying to get me to go to Gardner Village, a local arts and crafts compound near our home. Well, after much coercing and two years, I finally went! It was fun! Luke had a blast riding a pony and collecting who knows what kind of germs at the petting zoo.

I recently had a conversation with some friends about the fact that although I am getting older, I don't feel anymore mature or responsible! I have come to find out that the little success I have being a parent is directly tied to being able to relate to a two year old! Until my children hit their teenage years, I am hoping that this lack of maturity will help me be able to stay close to them without driving my wife nuts! Truth is. . . I think I had just as much fun as Luke at that stupid little petting zoo!

Blogging. . . (Pronounced with a soft "B")

Many of my friends and colleagues have jumped headfirst into the world "Blogging." I have sincerely enjoyed this newfound ability to keep in touch with them without too much effort! Although that may sound negative, the results of this move towards digital cataloging of life events and innermost thoughts allows for those who do not have time for small talk (me), to catch up with friends and family efficiently and without too much unnecessary banter!

Today I am officially jumping on the bandwagon! This is my blog! Enjoy! Comment! Feel free to rant! To all of my fellow cynics: The only rule here is that any statement must be followed by a coherent argument!
